Biography

Hanna was born in September 1836 in Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York.[1] She was the daughter of John Pawling Ostrom and Anna (Van de Bogert) Dingman, ref name="1870 census"/> Hanna Olida was named for her grandmothers, Hannah (Van Kleek) Vandebogert (1778-1842) and Alida (Pawling) Ostrom (abt.1780-aft.1850) AKA Olida.

In 1840 Hanna was living at , Hanover, Chautauqua, New York, J. P. Ostrom, 1M under 5, 1M 10-15, 1M 40-50, 1F under 5, 1F 5-10, 1F 15-20, 1F 40-50.[2]

On 1 August 1850, Hanna was living at Hanover, Chautauqua, New York, J. D. Ostrom, 54, POB NY, Farmer, Anna Ostrom, 52, Adam Ostrom, 23, POB Canada, Farmer, Caroline, 20 POB NY, Lydia, 13, POB NY, George, 11, POB NY, Lois, 20, POB NY.[3]

On 20 June 1855 Hanna was living at , Evans, Erie, New York with her stepfather, John G. Dingman, 57, POB Columbia, Sawyer, Ann Dingman, 56, Wife, POB Dutchess, Hannah O. Ostrom, 17, Stepchild, POB Chautauqua, George Ostrom, Stepchild, 15.[4]

Hanna married Nicholas Black in 1862. The couple had 4 children: Anna Dora Black, Ellen Black, Adam Black, and Arthur Black.[5]

In the 1870 census Hanna (age 33) was living in Evans, Erie, New York, United States on the Nicholas Black Farm. Age in 1870: 33.[6]

On 1 June 1875 Hanna (age 38) was living in Evans, Erie, New York, USA.[7]

In the 1880 census Hanna (age 43) was living in Elma, Erie, New York, United States. Age: 41. Marital Status: Married; Relation to Head of House: Wife.[8]

In the 1900 census Hanna (age 63) was living in Evans, Erie, New York. Age: 63. Marital Status: Married; Relation to Head of House: Wife.[5]

Hanna died at the age of about 79 in 1916. Age at Death: 79.[9]

Hanna was buried after 1916 in Evans Center, Erie County, New York, USA.[9]
