Belfast News-Letter 14 November 1912 [1]
Kilbroney Parish Church was on the 12th inst. the scene of a very pretty wedding, The bridegroom being Rev. W.L. Fenton, rector of Streete, Westmeath, youngest son of the late Mr. S. Fenton J.P. county Wicklow; and of Mrs Fenton, Adelaide Park, Belfast; and the bride Elsie, second daughter of the late Robert Oswald, Drumballyroney and Mrs Oswald, Rostrevor.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. S. Fenton, brother of the bridegroom, assisted by the Rev.H. Oswald, brother of the bride, and the Rev. T.W.E. Drury MA rector of the parish.
The bride (who it is interesting to note is a niece of the late R.R. Kane LLD Belfast) wore a pretty dress of ivory satin, with a veil of old Limerick lace and wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of white carnations, lily of the valley, white heather and smilax. She was given away by her mother, who wore a handsome gown of amber velvet with toque to match; and she was attended by four bridesmaids - the Misses Ida, Eileen and Florence Oswald (sisters) and Miss Constance Woods, county Wicklow, who were attired in shell-pink charmeuse with mob caps of filet net, and wore gold and enamel pendants, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. H. Oswald, brother of the bride, supported the bridegroom as best man.
The Wedding March by Mendelssohn was rendered by Miss Brooks, organist, as the bridal party left the church.
Luncheon was afterwards partaken of in the Great Northern Hotel, after which the happy pair left for Dublin en route for London where the honeymoon will be spent. A large number of valuable presents were received.
