In a letter from Carl Otte to his brother, August Otte, dated 1899-10-19: "... you wanted to know the birthdays of our blessed mother. She was born on June 28th, 1800. Brother Fritz was born on August 25th, 1834, Brother Wilhelm August 29, 1839, Sister Amalie September 2, 1841." in 1899, Amalie was married and living in the Transvaal, South Africa, August was in Germany.
