Biography

Mary Jane Utman was born on February 26, 1828 at Spraker's Basin, New York, daughter of Abram Utman and ?Ruth Rosina Thrall. ^[1]

She married Nathan Bangs Gatchell on July 4, 1847 at Lockport, New York. Nathan was born at Fort Erie, Upper Canada on August 10, 1827. He was the son of Reverend Joseph Gatchell and Eleanor Bangs. ^[1]

They resided at Lockport for nine years before settling at Lancaster, New York, where Nathan owned a glass manufacturing company. ^{[1] [2]}

Mary Jane died at Lancaster, New York on September 12, 1899. ^[3]

He died at Lancaster on July 6, 1903. ^[4]
