Joseph Homère Ouellet was born and baptized on 16 Jun 1853 in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli parish in L'Islet. He was the son of Nazaire- Louis Ouellet and Marie Emerence- Emérentienne Chouinard of this parish. Sponsors at Homère's baptism were Luder Tetu (who signed the register) and Marie Marthe Caron (who did not sign the register).
