Francois Xavier Ouellette, fils de Francois Ouellette et Monique Bernier.
François Xavier Ouellette was born on 28 June, 1824, according to records from St. Peter’s parish in Kent County, Ontario. Though other dates have been reported for his birth, this seems to be the most reliable as it is supported by primary documents. His father was François Ouellette and his mother was Monique Bernier. He was raised on his father’s farm, which he inherited, and to which he later added 20 acres. He married Julienne Primeau on 5 October, 1848, at St. Peter’s church. He spent his life in farming by all accounts, and raised a large family. In the first years of the 20th Century, Kent County commissioned a “commemorative biography” in which individuals from the community were interviewed and family histories were obtained. François was about 80 years old, and bedridden, but was said to have told many amusing anecdotes from his youth. He died from pneumonia on 26 March, 1905. His son Cephore inherited his land and turned it into an orchard. François and Julienne are buried at St. Peter's church in Kent County, a few paces from the river.
