Captain Wendell Oury served in the American Revolution under Daniel Brodhead with the 8th Pennsylvania Regiment from 09 August 1776 to 16 October 1777. [1]

Research Notes

  • Birthplace - There are several theories regarding the location of Wendell's birth. One version is that he was born in Germany and founded the family in Pennsylvania. Others believe that he and a brother named Van left Scotland for France in the early 17th century, before settling in Pennsylvania.[1]
