Biography

1803 Robert Henry Overend was baptized on 13 Nov 1803 in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England. He died as an infant. His parents were Robert Overend and Martha Overend. This was likely a sibling of this Robert. 1806 Born on unknown date in Yorkshire UK. This is the second R.H. Overend. 1806 Yorkshire UK. Baptised to Robert & Martha Overend on 13 Jul 1805. Married Sarah Curtis on 26 Jul 1825 in Dewsbury, Yorkshire. 1841 Census UK. Robert Overend (30), was living in Dewsbury, with wife Sarah Overend (40), and children Henry (14), Charlotte (11) and Fanny (6). 1851 Census UK. Robert Overend (44) was living in Soothill, Yorkshire, with wife Sarah Overend (50), and children Charlotte (21), Nathan (18), Fanny (16) and Sarah (9), and his father Robert Overend (75), lodger James Hook (19), and grandson William Overend (11 mths). 1861 Census UK. Robert Overend (54), widower, was living in Soothill, Yorkshire, with daughter Sarah Overend (19). 1880 Death. Robert Overend, age 75, died; his death was registered in Dewsbury district, Yorkshire, England. (Note that the Luckett family tree version of Overend history indicates he died in Dewsbury Union Workhouse 30/9/1880 (Certificate of Death No 46/31 in register 22/7/1880), caused by cancer of the lip.)
