Vincent Edward was born in 1914. He was the son of Edward Overend and Edith Martha Florence. [1] He passed away in 1944 age 30. [2]
Vincent Overend (Service number 517860) served in the NZ Army during World War II. A plasterer from Hastings NZ in civilian life, he served as Staff Sergeant at Headquarters, for the Infantry Brigade of 2NZEF. Vincent Overend was the son of Edward and Edith Martha Overend, of Hastings, Hawke's Bay; husband of Sophie Beatrice Overend, of Hastings. He died of his wounds on 12 August 1944 and is buried at Bolsena War Cemetery, in Italy (Grave reference III, A, 12)
