Biography

Henry was baptised on 12 May 1583 at Kildwick, Yorkshire, the son of Henry Overend and his wife Alice.[1]

Research Notes

Possible marriages - 22 November 1599 to Isabella Keighley[2] and 23 July 1610 to Joanna Barelye.[3] At the first marriage, he would have only been 16, which is very unusual for a man at that time. At the second, he would have been 27, which is more likely, but there is another candidate for that marriage, Henry Overend son of William and Agnes baptised 1589, who would have been 21. There may also be other candidates for the first marriage - the parish register does not start until 1575 so anyone aged over 24 at the first marriage 1599 would have no previous record. Further research may narrow it down.
