Alfred Overend (1850 to 1920), Worsted Machine Maker, born in Bingley; in 1873 married Jane Riley (1850 to 1918), born in Wine Wall (between Trawden and Colne), daughter of John Riley (1813) and Nancy Riley (1815); in 1883, his business, Hall, Overend & Co. failed; the family lived in Bingley and later at 20 Marlborough Street, Keighley, where Alfred Herbert was born,
