Biography

John Robert Owen (II) was born on 30 September 1845 in Mississippi Territory, USA.^[1] to John Robert Owen (I) and Elizabeth Ann Rice. He was the third of seven children, his siblings were Sarah Jane, Vollie Elizabeth, Mary Frances, Ezekial Thomas, Mark and Julia Ann.^[2][3] Mark and Julia died a teenagers.

John Robert married Elizabeth Gordon Weems on 31 October 1836.^[4] She is the daugter of John Russom Weems and Mary Ann Oliver. John and Elizabeth raised eight children: Thomas Alexander, William Favor, Ralph William, Alex/Adley Polk, Dora Ann, Luther Lee, Nanie and Ruth Grace, plus one other that apparenty died at birth.^[5]

Elizabeth died on 7 April 1934 in San Saba, San Saba County, TexasRobert died on 23 June 18566 in Bastrop County, Texas.^[1] John died on 24 August 1937 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.
