Marriage (1):

He married Martha Quinn on October 5, 1823 in Williamson, Tennessee. [1]

Possible second marriage (?):

In the 1850 United States Federal Census Record of Rockcastle County, Kentucky the individual listed under Samuel OWENS in his household was a 49 year old woman named Mary who was born in North Carolina. The census record has a mark in both of their columns stating they were married within the year. If this is true then she would have been his second wife. Her age could possibly point towards her being previously married as well.

The 1850 United States Federal Census Record of Rockcastle County, Kentucky stated that the household of Samuel OWENS contained the following children, but no relationship data was collected so further research is needed to prove parentage:

  1. Samuel Owens[2] (Birth Estimated from census age as About 1828 in Kentucky); The 1850 census record stated that he was married within the year, but if the marriage was recorded it was probably destroyed in the 1874 disaster that destroyed so many of the records of Rockcastle County, Kentucky.
