William Medicus (Bill) Owen, M.M.C.M. US Navy Retired, 82, of Hampton, SC, died on the evening of October 21, 2007 in the Hampton Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born February 6, 1925 in Luray, SC, he was the son of the late Joseph Ruby Owen and Sula Agnes Johnson Owen. Mr. Owen served his country in the US Navy during World War II and after his Naval retirement, he worked with the Civil Service on Paris Island in Beaufort, SC. He was a member of the American Legion Post #108 in Hampton, SC, he served as a Mason in the Sunset Masonic Lodge #331 in Estill, SC, was a member of the Hampton County Historical Society and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hampton, SC.

He is survived by his wife, May Porcellini "Sis" Owen of the home; one son, William Anthony "Bill" Owen of Denmark, SC; two daughters, Anna Marie Veeder and husband, Jim of Brevard, NC, and Frances Elizabeth Connelly and husband, Lynn of Chapin, SC; nine grandchildren: Anthony, Russell and Virginia Owen; Joseph, Sarah and Andrew Veeder and Marie, and Brian and Kathryn Connelly; and one great-grandchild, Chandler Owen.

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Michael Owen.
