Biography
James was born in 1803. He married Sarah Cox in 1822[1] and had one child, James Owens, Jr. After Sarah died he remarried and had some children. [2]He passed away in 1869. [3]
Research notes
According to the letter, James was the son of Jesse Owens and Elizabeth Cox Owens, who was a sister of James' wife's father Jesse Cox. So he may have married his first cousin. [2] Find a Grave states mother's LNAB was Rogers. [3]
