Jordan Owens was born in Poplar Branch, Currituck County, North Carolina.[1] He married Margaret Evans and they had 5 children, 3 sons and 2 daughters.
Per United States Census, 1880, Jordan Owens, age 46, is married to Margaret Owens, age 45, they are living in Poplar Branch, NC, with 14 year old son, JE Owens, 11 year old daughter, Rebecca Owens, and 9 year old son, Jesse Owens. Jordan Owens is shown to be working as a farmer[2]
