Research Progress

This relationship has significant but incomplete sources linking Sam as Ella May's father and Julia Durham her mother since the 1890 census was destroyed. Best evidence is 1910 census showing Sam living with his daughter Ella and son in law Thomas Jones.

Possible match in the 1850 household of Samuel OWENS[6] - Warning: profile of Samuel OWENS has inconsistancies in wife's name [Martha vs. Mary] and may refer to 2 different individuals. The possible match occurs in the census record with Mary, but that census record also stated that Samuel and Mary were married within the year so it may just be that Mary was his second wife. Unable to find marriage record for Samuel and Mary. It is believed to have been destroyed. More research required [ie. Finding proof of parentage of children listed in this census with mother's name listed on record would certainly help identify if this was correct family.]
