STEPHEN JOSEPH LAND,MARRIED TO HARRIETT PHOEBE OXBOROUGH. THEY HAD THREE CHILDREN: STEPHEN JOSEPH,ROBERT SAMUEL AND WILLIAM JOHN. HARRIETT DIED IN 1893 FROM PNEUMONIA. 1901 CENSUS LISTS THE CHILDREN AS LIVING WITH THEIR GRANDFATHER WILLIAM LAND,AND HIS CHILDREN. IT IS BELIEVED STEPHEN RAN AWAY AFTER TAKING THE CHILDREN OUT TO THE FAIR FOR THE DAY. WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHERE HE WENT,AND WHEN HE DIED.
I have tried to find Stephen on all Ancestry.com Collections and Countries, with no luck. It's like he vanished into thin air!
All I know is that he was a bricklayer (journeyman) and general labourer. His father was William Robert Land (1824 Great Yarmouth to 1912 Great Yarmouth), who was a malster by trade. His mother was Susannah Duffield (1829 Great Yarmouth), who was a beatster (fish net repairer). He had two siblings, Susannah (1853) and William (1855), both born in Great Yarmouth.
