Biography
Name
The name Peneeka is for Pįnįka, which is from pį, "good"; nįk, "little"; and -ka, a definite article suffix used in personal names. Formally, the proper form of the name should be Pįnįgᵋwįga, where -wį- is a feminine gender infix. The word pį has on rare occasions, been translated as "beautiful," however the primary meaning of pį is "good." So the name means, "Little Good Woman." This may not be a clan name, but an honorific.
