She married 16 Nov 1669 at Duxbuiry, John Simmons, son of Moses Simonson.[1][3] John was born about 1651.[3][4] He died before 9 Feb 1715/16 (administratrix appointed)[1] John was an innholder.[1] The family resided at Duxbury.
William Pabodie, her father, had an estate of £407. He left the land to his sons (some after wife's decease), and left his daughters, Mary, Mercey, Martha, Ruth, Sarah, Hannah, Lidia (also received a pair of green curtains), the heirs of Elizabeth and the heirs of Rebecca only one shilling each.[1][5]
Mercy was appointed to administer her husband's estate 9 Feb 1715/16.
A settlement was dated 11 Feb 1715/6. The widow Mercy received 1/3 of the entire estate for her lifetime. Youngest son, Moses, received all the lands, including his mother's after her decease, and 2/3 of the personal estate. He was to pay the estate debts and pay each of his siblings (John, William, Isaac, Benjamin, Joseph, Joshua, Martha wife of Samuel West and Rebecka wife of Constant Southworth) £200 pounds less what they had had from their father during his lifetime. The eldest, John was to receive a double share.[1][6][7][8]
She died between 26 Sept 1728, date of her will, and 8 Nov 1728, probate. In her will she mentioned all nine of her children: John (5s. and all her sheep), William (1s), Isaac (5s), Benjamin (5s), Joseph (5s), Joshua (5s), Martha 5s and "my Riding gown and best pettecoat and whood and Scarf and red Silk neck cloath"), Rebecca (5s and "my best Riding whood"), Moses ("my bed and beding belonging to itt and my cow and all the money not Disposed of")[9][10][1][11][12][13]
