William Peabody (the family surname historically spelled Pabodie) was born 21 Feb 1701/02 [Note: this is the correct date expression to account for the Julian/Gregorian calendar shift which was in progress at the time]. His birth location is not certain; whereas he may have been born in Little Compton, Rhode Island, from whence he eventually migrated to Stonington, Connecticut, there is some possibility that he may have been born in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

He married 30 Jul 1724, at Little Compton, Rhode Island, Jerusha Starr, the daughter of his stepmother by her first husband, Thomas Starr. They had 8 children.

William Peabody died 3 Jun 1778 at Stonington; his grave is in Crary Cemetery, North Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, USA Find A Grave: Memorial #20719801
