James was born in 1789.

James enlisted in the U.S. Army when he was 26 years of age.[1]

James was in a U.S. War of 1812 military record. It shows he was a Captain in COFFEE'S BRIGADE, CAV. AND MTD. GUNMEN, TENNESSEE[2][3]

James married Jencey Dean on 31 January 1821 in Wake, North Carolina, United States.[4][5][6]

He passed away in 1841.
