From: [firstname.lastname@example.org] William Pace Sr was a soldier in George Washington's Commander in Chief's Guard (also known as the Life Guards) for 6 years. We have Wm. Sr.'s records, bounty land warrant, etc.
Anyway the land deed is the evidence that Wm, Jr. was the son of Sgt Wm Pace (received a promotion just before he was mustered out of Continental Army in 1783 and received warrant for 200 acres for his 6 years of service as a member of Washington's guard).
Wm. Pace, Jr.moved to Jackson Co., Alabama about 1840. Another deed transfer in 1844 to Elizabeth Wininger Pace of Jackson Co., AL establishes that Wm., Jr. was married to Elizabeth daughter of David Wininger.
This information is taken from the book _Shelton, Wininger, and Pace Families_ by Harold Casey and Robert Casey, published 1988, lst and only printing.
