Biography

Church of Ireland Clergy

Rev. Richard Pack, was a brother of Rev. Thomas Pack, Dean of Ossory, and a son of Thomas Packe, a merchant from Ballinakill, Queen's Co. He entered Trinity College Dublin on 7 June 1748, aged 14. He received his B.A. in 1752, M.A. in 1773, LL.B. and LL.D. in 1774.

He was collated as Treasurer of Leighlin Cathedral on 2 January 1771. (FF.) He resigned on 5 February 1781. Between 1776 and 1781 he was also the Principal of Ormonde School, later called Kilkenny College.

Richard married Mary Percy, daughter of Anthony Percy.

All of the above children, except for Bartholmew abd George, are named, as infants, in petitions, dated 1779 & 1780. Richard Pack and Mary (Percy) Pack are the executors for Jane Percy, widow. [1] [2]

He died in 1781.

Reverend Richard Pack was born circa 1734. He was the son of Thomas Pack and unknown Kelly.

He married Mary Percy, daughter of Anthony Percy. He died in 1781. He was the headmaster between 1776 and 1781 at Kilkenny College, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Ireland.
