Sarah (Miller) Packer was still living when John wrote his will in 1700, in which he identified himself as a lawyer of New London and named his wife Sarah sole executor (or if she cannot, Mr. James Harvy and Mr. Nehemiah Smith), with legacies to her and each of his children by name.[3]
↑ John and his siblings relationships to their parents are only circumstantially understood. His father was certainly the only man at Groton Bank, New London who could have been his father at this date.

↑ The 1896 copy of New London Vital Records Vol. 1 gives that his first two children were daughters of a Lydia. The first attestation that she was the daughter of Cary and Elizabeth Latham is in 1852. No reasoning is supplied, nor has any been found in any of the eight sources cited by Torrey, who also documented this marriage as such.

↑ (1681) "Lydia Packer daughter of John & Lydia Packer borne the 10th of January 1681." For some reason, FamilySearch indexes these images as marriages, though they contain all manner of vital records. "Connecticut Marriages, 1640-1939," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QLM7-KQ8C : 17 March 2018), Lydia, Birth 1681, New London, New London, Connecticut, United States; Connecticut State Library, Hartford; FHL microfilm 1,312,157.
↑ The marriage of "John Packer Juner" and Sarah Miller, along with the births of their children, are recorded in a section together in the original vital record. "Connecticut Marriages, 1640-1939," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QLM7-9F4X : 17 March 2018), Sarah, Birth 1689, New London, New London, Connecticut, United States; Connecticut State Library, Hartford; FHL microfilm 1,306,248.
↑ Perhaps having trouble with the old script, some works call her "Cashthiah" or some such.

Packer-1313 and Packer-798 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. Birth date is wrong on Packer-1313 and no sources are represented. Same wife and child should belong to Packer-798
Packer-1313 and Packer-798 appear to represent the same person because: Aside from the birth date, these are duplicates. As Packer-1313 states, it's from an unsourced family tree, so I wouldn't get hung up on its claim about his birth date. Please merge into Packer-738, keeping the data and biography of 738. Thanks!
