Biography

infant death- Cora Wilson Padgett (daughter of George Wilson and granddaughter of Moses Wilson) was Floyd's first wife. She had four girls and died when her youngest was 6 months old. The two oldest daughters were put to the task of taking over until Floyd married Fannie Wislon (daughter of Caleb Wilson and granddaughter of Moses Wilson)from what we know right now Sam H Padgett was Fannie's first child. It was Floyd's first son. However the infant didn't thrive and couldn't be nourished with mothers milk or cow milk or goats milk and died. This would happen to almost half of Fannie's chidlren. Verna Vaughn was just a little girl but she claimed him because the girls were handed babies of Fannie's to attend to as if they were their own. Cora's baby girl Lou Nola raised three of Fannie's children-this we know for sure-Leo, Shelby Glen and Hazel. After burying his first love, Floyd had to bury his first son. Beloved Sam H.
