1-24 Blanchard, Joseph, of Smithfield and Mary Page, of Glocester; m. by Richard Steere, Justice, March 30, 1749
Hi, Leban was born in 1764 in Scituate, RI and had a twin sister named Rachel. Phebe was his sister born 1771. These are three of 12 children who were born to Joseph Blanchard 1724-1778 and Mary Page. They were born in RI and later moved to Luzerne County PA about 1772. Joseph was captured by Indians in 1778 and never seen again. Joseph and his son Andrew, Leban's brother were part of the 24th CT regiment, Zebulon Butler's detachment during the Revolutionary war. They served with Washington's army starting in January, just after Washington's crossing of the Delaware. Look up the Wyoming Massacre that occurred in 1778. Joseph's parent were Timothy Blanchard, 1704 and Mary Edmunds married in Providence RI, 11/2/ 1726. Timothy's parents were William Blanchard, before 1665-1755 and Jane Steere, 1669. William's parents are unknown at this time. Jane's parents are John Steere and Hanah Wickenden. Hanah's father is William Wickenden who moved from Salem MA to Providence, RI shortly after it was founded by Roger Williams. William was a baptist minister for the First Baptist church in America. Hope this sketchy history helps.

Based on Anne's comments below, does it make sense to you to disconnect Mary from the Page parents on this profile? Since she's attached to her husband and children, as well as having all the bio info that defines her as Mary Blanchard, I think that's the best route to follow. I can then create a new daughter for William and Mary (Soule) Page.
Thanks, Lillian
I see family Search trees that have her married to both, and Nathaniel died in 1744. However, Mary's father gave her part of his house in 1754 calling her Mary Stevens widow of Nathaniel.
