Biography

Mary Page was born in 1725.

Mary and Joseph Blanchard were married 30 March 1749 in Glocester, Providence County, Rhode Island Colony.[1]

She passed away in 1794.

1-24 Blanchard, Joseph, of Smithfield and Mary Page, of Glocester; m. by Richard Steere, Justice, March 30, 1749

Hi, Leban was born in 1764 in Scituate, RI and had a twin sister named Rachel. Phebe was his sister born 1771. These are three of 12 children who were born to Joseph Blanchard 1724-1778 and Mary Page. They were born in RI and later moved to Luzerne County PA about 1772. Joseph was captured by Indians in 1778 and never seen again. Joseph and his son Andrew, Leban's brother were part of the 24th CT regiment, Zebulon Butler's detachment during the Revolutionary war. They served with Washington's army starting in January, just after Washington's crossing of the Delaware. Look up the Wyoming Massacre that occurred in 1778. Joseph's parent were Timothy Blanchard, 1704 and Mary Edmunds married in Providence RI, 11/2/ 1726. Timothy's parents were William Blanchard, before 1665-1755 and Jane Steere, 1669. William's parents are unknown at this time. Jane's parents are John Steere and Hanah Wickenden. Hanah's father is William Wickenden who moved from Salem MA to Providence, RI shortly after it was founded by Roger Williams. William was a baptist minister for the First Baptist church in America. Hope this sketchy history helps.

I, Timothy Blancher (Blanchard) and Mary Edmunds were married, by Richard Brown. Justice, in Providence, R. I., Nov. 2, 1726. They were doubtless the parents ci II. Joseph Blanchard, who was married, at Glocester, Providence Co., R I. by Richard Steere, Justice, March 30, 1749, to Mary Page, of Glocester. He is described in the marriage record as of Smithfield, R. I. The children oi Joseph and Mary Page) Blanchard were: 1, John, born at Smithfield, R. I., Oct. 22, 1749; 2 Timothy, born at Glocester, R. I., Sept. 2, 1731; 3, Audrew, born at Glocester, R I., Aug. 16, 1754:4. Mary, born at Glocester, R. I. Xov. 12, 1756: 5, James, (1) born at Glocester, R. I., Oct. 28, 1758; 6, Joseph, Jr., born at Glocester, R. I., Feb. 18, 1762; 7, Benjamin, iwin, born at Glocester, R. I. DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:

Page-15395 and Page-12338 appear to represent the same person because: Believe that this Mary Page is the daughter of John Page OF Glocester, RI as noted in the book, From: Representative men and old families of Rhode Island : genealogical records and historical sketches of prominent and representative citizens and of many of the old families, Vol. 2

Lillian,

Based on Anne's comments below, does it make sense to you to disconnect Mary from the Page parents on this profile? Since she's attached to her husband and children, as well as having all the bio info that defines her as Mary Blanchard, I think that's the best route to follow. I can then create a new daughter for William and Mary (Soule) Page.

Regards,
Bobbie

Do we have a source for her death? Since her estimated birth is apparently based on her age at death, a death record would be very helpful.

Bobbie, just got around to checking out source for Mary (Page) Blanchard. I could not find another source with death info. If I need to do anything more, let me know.

Thanks, Lillian

Thanks for checking, Lillian. I'll see if I can get ahold of the Soule silver book.

Hi, Bobbie asked me look this up in the official Mayflower Society books (they are still pink for SOULE) You have the correct birth and death (unfortunately, no source was given) for Mary Page (#528) daughter of William Page and Mary Soule. However the fifth/sixth generation book says she married Nathaniel Stevens, not Joseph Blanchard. So unless there is newer information than 2003, I believe you have attached Mary (Page) Blanchard, wife of Joseph Blanchard to the wrong set of parents (that is Mary (Soule) Page and William Page.

I see family Search trees that have her married to both, and Nathaniel died in 1744. However, Mary's father gave her part of his house in 1754 calling her Mary Stevens widow of Nathaniel.
