William Preston Page was born June 9, 1847, in Platte Co., MO, the 4th child of Jesse and Emily Plummer Page and their first child born in Missouri. On Nov. 18, 1868, he married "Nannie" Lawrence and they had seven children:

William he was killed at the age of 47 while unloading cattle at Armour Junction when a freight started moving. A wrong switch was thrown and he was hard of hearing so did not hear the train coming; another version is that he was leaning against a freight when it started rolling and pulled him under it.[1]
