Honorable Matthew "Esquire" Page,[1][2] second son of John Page, the Councillor, was born at Williamsburg[3] on January 19, 1659,[4] and died on January 9, 1703.[5]
He was one of the Council from Gloucester county.[3] He married about 1689, Mary daughter of John Mann of Gloucester, and settled about 1700 at "Rosewell" which has since been the home of the Page family.[3][6]
Matthew Page of "Timber Neck,"Gloucester, County, Virginia, was appointed to the Virginia Council in 1699.[7][8]

Remains interred here on the family grounds, but memorial tomb was moved to Abingdon Episcopal Church in 1969 by the A.P.V.A. Col. Matthew Page memorial tomb at Abingdon Church.
