John Paget, Esquire, was born on 12 December 1761 in London, England. He was the son of Richard Paget MD (1730-1803) and his wife, Mary (Moore) Paget (1732-1807).

On 24 February 1784 at St. Mary's Church, Clipsham, Rutland, England, Jane Snow (1760-1845) married John Paget, Esq., of Newberry House and Cranmore Hall, East Cranmore, Somerset, England. Their marriage bans had been published in Somerset on 18 February 1784. ^[1]

The couple lived at Cranmore Hall in East Cranmore, Somerset, England, and had the following 6 children: ^[2]
