Biography

Donald was born in 1927 in Wisconsin, probably in Appleton, to Arthur Pahl and Edna Knoke. After graduating from Appleton High School in 1943, Donald enlisted in the Navy and served in World War II. After the war, he continued his studies at Valparaiso University in Indiana. He married a fellow Valparaiso student, Esther Elaine Doege, in 1949. They had x children together and lived initially in Appleton, and then later in Paoli, PA, and in Arden, NC. Donald passed away in Arden in 2003.
