On Dec. 16, 1773 the Massachusetts colonists dumped British tea into Boston Harbor in the world’s most famous tax revolt. The "Tea Party" movement began.
After a protest over the imposition of taxes by a meeting of the council of assistants, the general court ordered each town to send two representatives.
Selected as a representative Lemuel Paige signed the Assistant Text to England's Taxes.
