According to the census taken in Shenfield, Essex, in 1851, Mina Slater (nee Pain) was born in Hornchurch Essex, circa 1815.
In 1851, she and her husband George Slater had an 8 year old daughter, Sarah, who was born in S Ockenden, and a 4 year old son Walter, who was born in East Hornden. They had later moved to Shenfield and had two more children, Amelia (2) and the baby, Emily. George was listed as a Miller and Mina was a Dress Machinist [1].
Mina died of heart disease at Deloraine in Tasmania, Australia, on Sep 6 1880 [2].
