While the birth of this Judeth was recorded in the records of Pomfret, I seriously question that she is the Judeth Paine who married Abel Comstock in Kent in 1747 without additional primary support. Pomfret is located close to the eastern border of Connecticut with Rhode Island while Kent is on the western border with New York. There is no evidence placing Stephen and his family in Kent or other nearby western border town. There is also no evidence I can find to place Able in Pomfret to meet and court Judeth. The Comstock Genealogy states she was b. 1728 but fails to identify her parents. A more recent Comstock Genealogy by John A Comstock published in 1949 does state she was the daughter of Stephen and Sarah (Leach) and shows her 1727 birthdate but does not say it was in Pomfret. It lists Abel's birthplace as Stratfield which is west of New Haven about halfway between Pomfret and Kent. This could be simply repeating older, unproven published claims. It is notable that the "Paine Family Records, Vol 1" does not list a marriage to Abel Comstock. The marriage between a Judeth Paine and Stephen Williams 18 May 1757 could refer to Judeth Paine daughter of Seth and Mary b. 18 Feb 1737/8 or to this Judeth as the above source considers. However the editor of those records admits he lacked information on him and his descendants.
The link listed as Paine Book opens to a Peck entry, specifically Samuel Peck. The only Judith there is his daughter who died at age 10.
