Biography

William joint executor with John to their father’s will in 1834, and was an ag lab age 50 living with Esther Pain 63 independent and James Sly 58 a thatcher in 1841 in Cock Street. In 1851 he was an unmarried ag lab aged 56 lodging in Mill Street Gamlingay with James Larkins and family. Living further up Cock Street was a William Pain 24 journeyman and Sarah 21. In 1861 a William Paine 70 from Gamlingay was a “Retired Woodard” unmarried living with his first cousin James Larkins and family at Great Gransden. William died in 1868 aged 75.
