It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Thomas:
I've updated the biography, added sources where found. Still needs work on birth/parents in bio with sources.
Wife Bennet Freeman - sources??? I find she married "PAINE, John (1661-1731) & 1/wf Bennett FREEMAN; 14 Mar 1689, 1688/9; Eastham" in Torrey. Shouldn't she be "unmarried" from Thomas, then merged with the other Bennett Freeman?
This statement in the Biography is incorrect: "He married,*Hannah Shaw*Elizabeth Aires abt. 8 Mar 1714 in Third Church, Boston, Massachusetts*: he married 2nd Mrs. Elizabeth Eairs of Boston March 8, 1714/5 : In old Burying Ground in Truro." In fact, Thomas Paine wed Hannah Shaw on 5 Aug 1678 in Eastham, Barnstable county, Plymouth Colony. This seems to be another case of uncareful adding of redudant (and incorrect) information in the wrong place in the biography. It happens so often to profiles managed by me as well.
Paine-58 and Paine-131 appear to represent the same person because: It appears these two profiles are the same person. It will help clean up our Paine Family here if you can compare and merge, then we can work on cleaning up one profile.
