  • BIRTH: Estimated from age of older siblings, and age at marriage.

(place) Since the younger children are not listed in the St. Erth P.R., Peter had probably moved to Towednack by the time of their birth. (The Towednack P.R. does not begin until 1676). Matthews' "History of St. Ives, ...." shows Peter paying a subsidy in Towednack in 1641.

MARRIAGE: Information provided by William Curnow, Bedminster, New Jersey, source not cited, but apparently taken from the Towednack Bishop's Transcripts.

NOTE: Archdeaconry of Cornwall, Wills & Admons, AP/P/1462, Admon of Jane Painter. Administration account, dated 21 Jun 1680, made by her daughter Jane shows money paid out to four brothers-in-law of the younger Jane, one of whom was Thomas Curnow.

DEATH: Towednack, Cornwall, Parish Register Transcripts, 1676-1813, baptisms and burials only, LDS film #254222.

Buried 11 Mar 1686 Towednack.

NOTE: Named last in father's will; unmarried. (Archdeaconry of Cornwall, Wills and Admons, Vol. "P" 1644-1700, LDS film #90172, Peter Painter, dp. 20 June 1671).

Painter-538 and Painter-240 appear to represent the same person because: Hi Karen, I think this is a link we should make. I'm trying to sort out the Curnows, and my line is related to yours. Joan Painter was my ancestor and she links to many people before and after.
