Peter was born in 1844. Peter Duncle Pantier was the son of Mary Margaret Dunkle (1807-1864) and Jacob Painter (1812 - after 1880). Both parents were born in Pennsylvania.
He married Mary Ann Logue (1849-1894) on September 17, 1871 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. Their children included:
