1870 TN. Rutherford County Census, Dated 08-11-1870., shows Thankful in her home of origin. Her father, George B. Painter is listed as HOH. Age 50, born 1819/1820. Male, White, works as a farmer. His Wife, Martha, born 1823/1824, age 46. Female, White, works at home. Others listed on Census, James H., born 1852/1853, age 17, male, White. Thankful born 1855/1856, age 14, Female, White. Martha, born 1857/1858, age 12, Female, White. George, born 1858/1859. age 11, Male, White. Robert, born 1863/1864. age 6, Male, White. All family born in TN.


Based on TN. Certificate of Death, Thankful or Bettie, as she was, called, died 05/23/1927. Additional information on certificate indicate Bettie was born 01/28/1854 in Rutherford County TN. Listing for her: Female, White, Widow, age 73. Her father, George Burton Painter, born 1820 in Rutherford County, TN. He died about 1882. mother: Martha A. Mankin, both born in TN.

Bettie was one of eight children. At the time of her death, her residence: 1217 3rd. Avenue N. Nashville TN. Cause of death: Toxemia following fracture to femer from a fall. She was under care of Bates Dozier, M.D. from 05/05/1927 thru 05/23/1927. The informant on this certificate is Mrs. Lassie Aylor 1826 Nassau Street. ( This informant could be her daughter Flossie Aylor ) Burial to be at Mt. Olivet Cem. Nashville, TN.
