Biography
Birth: Private George W. Painter was born October 10, 1838[1][2][3] in Amherst County, Virginia.[2] He was the son of Henry Painter and Margaret Fry.
Marriage: George married Sarah Clements on August 15, 1859 in Amherst County. Virginia.[2]
Children: George and Sarah had 11 children[1] of which 9 show up in various census reports:

Merger Notes
Painter-2760, a clear duplicate, was merged into Painter-1939 and the following changes were made in the original Painter-1939 during the merge:
- The middle name was changed from Washington to W. It probably is Washington, but no source for that was found.
- The birth location was changed from Randolph County, West Virginia to Amherst County, Virginia per the marriage source. Painter-1939 had used the Randolph County reference found in the death record of daughter Bessie R.[11]
George was born in 1838. He passed away in 1914.
