He was the son of Samuel & Mary Palmer.[1]
His marriage was reported to the New York Monthly Meeting Sarah Harrison on 4d 7m 1735 [4 Sep 1735].[2] Sarah was the daughter of John and Mary Ferris. She was born about 1664 in Westbury, Long Island, New York.
His mother's will mentions four sons: Obadiah, Nehemiah, Silvanus, and Solomon.
He died in Westbury, Long Island, New York.
The following is an abstract of Solomon's mother's will from Pelletreau's Early Wills of Westchester County, New York.[3]
I, MARY PALMER, of Mamaroneck, in Westchester County, widow of Samuel Palmer, being of perfect understanding. After all debts are paid, I leave to my son, Obadiah Palmer, L.30, and my silver tankard, during his lifetime, and then to his daughter, Mary Ann. I leave to my granddaughter, Esther Palmer, the daughter of Obadiah Palmer, my best suit of wearing clothes, and my best silk hood. I leave to my son Silvanus, L.20. I leave to my granddaughter Mary, wife of Samuel Field, of Rye, L.40, and two silver spoons. To my granddaughter, Mary Palmer, daughter of Nehemiah Palmer, L.10, and two silver spoons. To my granddaughter, Mary Palmer, daughter of Silvanus Palmer, L.10, and two silver spoons. To my granddaughter, Mary Palmer, daughter of Solomon Palmer, L.10, and my silver tankard. These sums to be put out at interest till they are of age. I leave to my daughters (in-law), Ann, wife of Obadiah Palmer, and Mary, wife of Silvanus Palmer, all the rest of my wearing clothes. All the rest to my four sons, Obadiah, Nehemiah, Silvanus, and Solomon. I make my son Obadiah, and John Griffin, of Mamaroneck, and Josiah Quimby, executors.
