Biography

George was born on 12 November 1819 and christened on 23 May 1820 in Ashbrittle, Somerset, England, as an illegitimate son of Elizabeth Palmer. No father is recorded, but the birth date is given. ^[1]

His mother subsequently married, in 1825, James T. B. Notley, and George assumed the surname of "Notley".^[2]

In 1843 George married Frances Eliza Millett Thomas at St Pancras in London, England. ^[3]

He passed away on 22 Oct 1855 at 4 Millbay Grove, Plymouth, Devon, England. He was 35 years old. Cause of death is recorded as Pthisis ( i.e. most likely Tuberculosis ).^[4]
