Biography

He passed away about 1632. Mentioned his wife, Elizabeth, and his two stepsons, Samuel and Nathaniel Browning, among others in his will: "...The rest to my wife Elizabeth, whom I make sole Executrix etc And I desire Mr. Davenport, minister, Mr. French, warehouseman in lumber, and Mr. Edward Hopkins, of London, merchant, that they would he pleased (after my wife's decease) to take into their custody my sons-in-law, Samuel and Nathaniel Browning[1]..." (This transcription appears to contain an error re: 'Mr. French'-Daniel Browning's will calls him Trench[2]). Daniel and John's widow, Elizabeth, had the following will: "Memorandum that I Elizabeth Palmer widdow dwelling in in Whites Alley in Colman Streete being now in perfect memory doe will and bequeath to Master Cardwell Ffarington marchante dwelling in Coleman Street all my estate and children desiring him to see them brought up and to have a (care) of them Also my will is that he shall (receive?) all the revenues of their portions from the Chamber of London and all [] towards their maintenance and soe I make him my sole Executor of this my last will Also I desire Mr. Edward Hopkins marchante dwelling in Coleman Street to be the Overseer of this my will And in case Mr Farrington dye then I (entrust) him to be an assistant to Mrs. Farrington in the care of my three children Sealed and delivered the twenty seventh day of January one thousand six hundred thirtie fower in the presence of Mr. Mathew Gilbert Agnes Gilbert her marke Elizabeth Palmer[3]." Caldwell Farrington's wife was Anne Trench, daughter of Edmond Trench[4].)
