William was born in 1816. He was the son of William H Palmer. He moved from Rutherford County, Tennessee to Macoupin County, Illinois where he speculated in land. He married Sarah Miller Edwards[1][2]. in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Macoupin County, Illinois. They had eleven children. William died in 1859 and was buried in Welton Cemetery, South Otter, Macoupin, Illinois[3]
