Joseph Palmer was born to Joseph Palmer and Hannah Fox on November 24, 1785 in Poultney Township, Rutland County, Vermont.[1]
Joseph married Sarah "Sally" Martin on September 26, 1808 in Washington County, Ohio.[2] The couple had planned to be married by a local preacher, who went elsewhere and was replaced at the last moment by Joseph's father, a Justice of the Peace, who performed the ceremony.[3] Joseph and Sarah had the following children:
