Floyd LeRoy Palmer was the son of Richard C. Palmer & Lena Behrer. Floyd was married to Mary Edith Grove in about 1910, and they had at least two daughters. (His daughter Hazel Agnes Palmer, married a King and had daughter Joan Hazel King). At the time of the 1900 census, the family was living in College, Centre Co, PA. R.C.'s brother Frank Palmer lived with them.
On June 5, 1917, Floyd registered for the draft. He cited that he had a wife and child (under 12) to support. At the time, he was working as a telegraph operator for the PA Railroad Co. He was described as medium height, medium build, grey eyes and brown hair. He signed his name "Floyd Lee Roy Palmer." At that time he was living in Watsontown, Northumberland Co, PA.
Floyd worked for the railroad from the depression until his death in 1958. He was 68 and is buried in Centre County Memorial Park, State College, Centre County, Pennsylvania, USA.
In 1910, Floyd and Mary lived with her mother, Agness Grove (44), a widow. They had just been married. Floyd worked as a clerk for the PA Railroad.
On June 5, 1917, Floyd registered for W W I, right in Watsontown, where they lived. At the time he worked as a telegraph operator for the PA Railroad, was married with one child. He was described as being of medium height, medium build, grey eyes, brown hair, and not bald.
In 1920, Floyd and Mary were living in Watsontown, Northumberland, PA, with their two daughters, Hazel (9) and Eleanor (2-½). Floyd worked as a ticket agent for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
In 1930 Floyd and Mary were living in Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA with their two daughters, Hazel (19) and Eleanor (12). Floyd worked as an agent for the Pa RR and Hazel worked as a clerk.
On April 27, 1942, Floyd registered for the draft of WW II, at the age of 52. He was described as 6'1 tall, 158 pounds, with blue eyes and brown and gray hair. In 1942 he worked for the Pennsylvania RR, Wilkes-Barre Division in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. He lived in Hazleton, Luzerne Co, at the time, but afterwards they moved to Sunbury.
Floyd died on April 19, 1958, of acute congestive heart failure.
