Grace Darling Palmer was born on March 13, 1876, in Stanley, New Brunswick, Canada, her father, William, was 41, and her mother, Harriet, was 31. She married Donald Augustus MacKay on April 28, 1897, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. They had ten children in 24 years. She died on August 7, 1924, in her hometown at the age of 48, and was buried in Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada.
