Catherine (Palmer) Jaggar was born in Oxfordshire, England.

The Gro index shows sisters Alice b 1841 and Ann 1846 , though both died before the 1851 census.

In the 1851 census Catherine (age 12) was the daughter of John Palmer and Sarah in Oxford St Thomas, Oxfordshire, England.^[3]

When she was 18 years old, Catharine married Charles Jaggar on 17 July 1856 in Oxford, St Thomas, Oxfordshire, England.^[4]

She and Charles went on to have 14 children, three died young all being under 2 years old at death.

In 1871- now with 6 children at home ^[6]

In the 1881 census Catherine (age 42) was the wife of Charles Jaggar at 209 Shobnall Street, Horninglow, Staffordshire, England.^[7]

Catherine is widowed in 1884 and has the 2 youngest with her living in Burton upon Trent in 1891 she is age 53 ^[8]

In the 1911 census Catherine (age 72) was the widowed head of household at 104 Shobnall Street, Burton Upon Trent, Burton on Trent, England. Also there is Percy who is Cooper ^[9]

Catherine though, lived a long life (as did several of her children), she was 91 when she passed away in 1929. ^[10]

Research Notes

The family moved from Oxford to Burton on Trent - no doubt for Charles and work. He was a Cooper and Burton was a place of brewing. Catherine had also received an inheritance being the beneficiary to her father's estate.
