Biography

Birth

Abigail was born to John and Bridget Clarke Baxter Palmer in Newtown, Long Island in about 1667.

Marriages

Abigail Palmer married, first, Thomas Farrington in Newtown perhaps about 1685, certainly before 1692.[1]

Thomas died in 1699. In his will, dated 22 May 1699, proved 21 Sep 1699, Thomas Farrington of Flushing, NY, names wife Abigail, daughters Elizabeth, Bridget and Abigail. Son Thomas to have 60 acres with the house and orchard. To Son Benjamin 40 pounds when of age. Son Robert 48 acres at the side of the highway and he is to pay Benjamin 40 pounds. Probate . Abstracts of Early Wills of Queens County, New York, Recorded in Libers A and C of Deeds. [2]

Abigail Palmer Farrington then married James Clement, as his second wife, in Long Island. The couple declared their intentions on 3 Oct. 1700.[3]

The 1976 Farrington genealogy claims that Abigail married Thomas Hedger 22 Feb 1714.[5]
