Biography

Ebenezer, son of Daniel Palmeter and Johannah Dains, was born on 15 Apr 1697 at Stonington, New London County, CT.[1] He was baptized on 28 Nov 1697 at Stonington, New London County, CT.[2] Ebenezer died before 25 Dec 1771 at Colchester, New London County, CT, when inventory of his estate was taken.[3]

He married first say 1715, Judith PARKE, daughter of William PARKE and Hannah FRINK.[4] He married second on 6 Aug 1764, at Windham, Windham County, CT, Eleanor DAINS, daughter of Ebenezer DAINS and Mercy LUDDINGTON.[5]

He inherited the northeastern part of a 200 acre lot laid out for his father in 1716. Church records dated 20 Sep 1732 said that Ebenezer along with Daniel PALMETER Sr and Joannah DAINS had gone to another town. In May 1748, Ebenezer and his brother Elnathan were among the members of the church of New Salem (partly in Colchester in Hartford county and partly in Lyme in New London county) who complained they had been without a minister for about 4 years. He was called son Ebenezer by the will of Daniel PALMETER Sr dated 5 Nov 1751. Ebenezer's will dated 1 Aug 1768 at Windham, Windham County, CT, mentioned his loving wife Elinor (to have 1/3 the real estate), daughter Hannah (to have 20 acres of the farm), children of only son Ebenezer Jr (to each "one shilling and no more I having given to him my son his full portion of my estate in his lifetime"), son David Johnson ("in addition to what I have already given him my O plow"), two daughters Joanna and Hannah. Executors were David Johnson and daughter Hannah.[6]
